Bearing the new Bear in the house
August 30th will be move in day for the young man (19) to Bridgewater State University (MA) which is the home of the bears.
Funny part of that statement, is that since he was 5 or 6 (Kindergarten) I was called “Mama Bear” due to his I.E.P.’s.
He’s already self advocating for himself, already reached out to the Student Accessibility Services, feels comfortable and confident and excited for this transition.
Me? I’m a nervous wreck, but I know I need to start cutting the apron strings.
I think (?) we have everything he’ll need to move in to the dorm, but these days there is Amazon Prime so we can either ship him stuff or go and make a quick visit (with bagels of course, his favorite food group).
I’ll miss him having around, but I know he’ll be successful, happy and finding his own way.
Here’s to our future Bear! Here we go!
